I fully agree about just 'popping the exit' but attempting to call the police, media, etc is no joke. in addition to that I'd be trying to have a heart to heart with the captain, and I don't mean in a threatening way.
You have to have communications, you have to be willing to take charge, and you have to make choices that are for the best of all onboard, if the PIC(pilot in command) won't do it, someone has to step up and attempt to guide them. the worst that could happen is the PIC could have you thrown off for 'disobeying' but at least you got out and maybe allowed others out as well. No LEO is going to arrest you for non threatening sane communication that simply disagrees with the PIC.
