Just to be clear for the op (who asked about the Ritz and who may not realize it), the Ritz and Four Seasons are different hotels. The Ritz Carlton Chicago is a Four Seasons Hotel, but not the Four Seasons. Both are very highly rated and very close to each other on Michigan Ave.
Interesting history behind the two Four Seasons in Chicago. As I understand it FS entered into a long term service agreement with the Ritz in the late 70s and then later wanted to build their own.
Both are lovely, but the Four Seasons is in my opinion is a bit nicer. The Pen is my favorite
