Have you seen the seatmap? There's one on EVA's site. 57C is a left-hand aisle, next to window seat 57A. It's right in front of the toilets, with the galley opposite the toilet. Normal economy is 3-3-3, but this row is 2-3-2 to allow better circulation.

So, handy for the toilets and handy for the snacks they leave out during long haul flights, but you might be disturbed by noise.

You might prefer to consider rows 69 to 71 at the back. These rows are often the last to fill up - so if the flight is not loaded you might get a centre row of 3. 69/71 are also 2-3-2 as the cabin tapers off. Generally quieter.

45C/H, 60C/H are the best aisles - they are exits and you have loads of leg room. Should you be EVA gold/diamond you should be able to phone up and book them. Else ask at check-in - it seems that so many people now check-in online, that these seats are sometimes left untaken. 60A/K are even better - exit windows with access to the aisle. 45A/K are a bit restricted because of the door.

No laptop power. You only get that in Elite or Premium Laurel. There are power sockets in the toilets, but you're not supposed to use them for laptops! A FA once allowed me to use the power in the galley between meal service. Quite handy if your seat is near there, I suppose. They have flat pin, US-style 110V sockets.

The inseat power on Elite/PL are also 110V, but take European or American plugs.

PS welcome to FT!
