The FA's first and most important responsibility is the safety of the pax and the crew.
The OP's tone didn't strike me as arrogant, I get really annoyed as well when I get run over when trying to get out of my seat. There are frequently people smashing up from the aisles and then once the aisle fills up frequently there are people standing on your shoes, smeared against you. Very strange. Happens most often on domestic China flights, but it's pretty common on KA and even CX as well. Gotten better over the last few years, but still it's not exactly enjoyable. It's like a prisoners' dilemma...then you too have to jump out of your seat as fast as possible and claim aisle space before someone else from the back tramples up there.
Also, look everyone knows the FA's are responsible for the safety of pax and crew. This is nothing original, and I'm pretty sure the OP doesn't actually mean that FAs should peace out just to let him get to the front. I think the bigger issue is that people sometimes fly out of their seats and run up to the front of a section. It annoys me immensely when people on FT use the safety of pax and crew as an end all for debate.
Ironically, it isn't exactly safe on many of the KA flights when pax do have a rush to the front, trampling over people.
