Scott, you can also take a "self-guided" (IE: on your own) tour out to Kamakura, where there is a giant buddha, numerous shrines, etc., by going to the tourist office at the Shinjuku rail station, on the same side as the Hilton/Hyatt/InterContinental are, and asking the friendly staff for the brochure, in English. It'll explain all about how to get there via trains, and they will sell you the proper tickets, a lunch voucher (which was pretty good, if I remember right), and point you to all the sights, for about $35. It was a great value, and only requires that you can follow basic directions. We found it a great time.....
