Can anyone help with the following rather detailed query? ( No prizes for guessing why I am asking)

I know that the Membership Year expires on the 8th of the month but:

1. Does it expire at Midnight on the 7th or Midnight on the 8th?

2.As a UK Gold Card member, if a flight departs its LOCAL destination just after what would be my NEW year in local time,is that classified as being in the NEW year or, because that timing would equate to the very end of the OLD year in UK time, is it classified in the OLD year

Example: A flight departs SYD at 08.00 local time on the first day of the NEW year. That equates to 23.00 UK time on the last day of the old year

Tend to believe that the actual date and time of the departure in local time would prevail but would like some reassurance
