Also, for international flights, airlines often request you try to check in 2 hrs. in advance. DAY is a small airport, dont' really want to wait around 2 hrs in advance. If I can check in online, would this not also meet the 2 hr. check in requirement? Thanks.
Don't see why you wouldn't be able to check in.....DL allows international OLCI.
If you check-in via OLCI you don't need to check in with an agent or kiosk, so nobody would know/care when you arrived. (I assume you have no luggage to check in - otherwise, you need to meet the luggage time frame as well)
