I would not let it bug you to be honest. It is in the past now and I am sure you had a good CW flight in the end.

However that does not mean that it should happen again in the future. Knowing the rules and asking for a supervisor in the event of any issues arising is the only way to deal with these situations I think.

Besides, imagine what it would have been like if you had been required to wait the extra time in the main part of the airport like most passengers.
