What you offer is ONE reason why we ought to caution others doing the same as the OP. But again this may NOT be the overriding reason why he should NOT do it. We still don't know for what reasons he wants to bid farewell to his daughter at the gate and of course (by virtue of charity) we ought to be open to the possibility that he may have good reasons.

Also again the topic of this discussion was HOW to do X, NOT should X be done at all. There is surely no obvious reason to doubt why he should not do X.
