Not true for everyone. We've had HGVC Open Season cash bookings several times at HGVC resorts. Each time we asked about earning HHonors points, particularly for incidentals. At both places the answer was no. (In fact on one stay the front desk agent put our HHonors # in at checkin "just in case" but nope, nothing showed up on my statement. I did not follow up with HHonors as the front desk agent said she understands we won't earn points.)
