Thanks to everyone for the kind help! ^

I've decided that we will make the effort to go and see the penguins, and we will do one of the premium packages, either penguins plus or the one with the guide (thanks ojala and kenish).

Not quite sure how we will do it, but most likely is driving back to MEL that evening. kenish I was planning on staying at the Travelodge Southbank anyway, and $6 overnight doesn't sound too bad!

alanstar thanks for sharing your trip report. I enjoyed reading it. You have given me the idea that we could do PI after GOR, and with different dates I might find it easier to get one nights accommodation there. But I do need to be careful about the rental car and ferries in that case. And if we do that we could also do what you and DownUnderFlyer have suggested and also go to Wilsons Promontory National Park. I hadn't even thought of doing that as well!

CHIC SILBER Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is on my to-visit list. I have been there before, but it was 25 years ago when I was little. Unfortunately it will have to be during yet another trip to Australia! There's too much to try and fit into three weeks.
