Everyone that works with me knows that my first rule is NO CHAINS! I'm not a snob, I have no problem eating at the local 'greasy spoon', I just refuse to eat pre-manufactured food that is trucked in, warmed up, and then covered with some kind of corn-syrup based sauce (which is every entree I see in Applebee's/ Chili's/etc. commercials)
Unfortunately 8 out of 10 times now "Mom & Pop" means just that: trucked in, warmed up and covered with syrup. The purveyor of pre-fabbed "edibles" (usually Sysco, or their ilk) is obscured by a blanket of down-home kitsch.
