Just talked to OPSC. Lady with 15 years says they almost never can get space on EK. Is this true?

Would VS be a viable option, or AF? Granted we are looking at a way to get there, I have always wanted to fly VS or EK, but would settle for mebbe AF. I have never done a long trip using miles in FC except on COPA to BA, so I want to make this a good comfortable trip. Especially the MISERABLE trip on CO to EWR-PVG and return in Y in June!

Any advice would be helpful. I don't want to spend hours on the phone with OPSC!
