I would agree 100%! Starwood is by far a better program because of their lack of black-out dates. Unfortunately, there aren't Starwood properties everywhere I travel. I've come to like Hilton Garden Inns, and more and more of them seem to be popping up. However, I'm not willing to deal with the challenges a previous poster indicated (fighting for upgrades, breakfast, etc.) just so that I can be loyal to a program that doesn't seem to be very loyal to its customers. I'm Gold HHonors and Starwood so it makes little difference to me if I abandon HHonors.
