Yeah, the route is available at a reasonable price if you book in to a non-refundable fare bucket. That sucks arse for those of us with evolving plans or who were going to go on a segment run for a higher elite tier. DEQM be darned for getting a higher status if each flight is 300 miles... I want points!

More seriously though, I originally assumed this was a temporary fare glitch but it seems to have stuck around. It also does not seem to be limited to my home airport (MAF). What could the business case be for make M and Y fares so much more expensive than they were last month? I will pay a premium of 100-200 (for the particular flights I take) to be able to refund, change, and get double segments, but paying several hundred extra dollars seems like you are just forcing people to buy the cheaper tickets. Most of my travel is privately funded, but for my 2-3 business trips a year I ain't walking in to my bosses office with a request for a $900+ coach fare that doesn't even have me crossing a time zone.
