I know it's against the spirit of FT (having ridiculous routings to maximise miles!), but due to AA timetable changes since booking, some of my flight timings have become a little too impractical for comfort.
My NA route component is -(QF)-JFK-SEA-DFW-MIA-DFW-SFO-(BA)-.

I want to delete the MIA side trip, leaving -(QF)-JFK-SEA-DFW-SFO-(BA)-.
Will QF want to reissue the ticket, or is it like a time change without change of routing?
