This would go on my "least favorite" list. Although I'll concede the comfort food here can be pretty decent. My wife and son love the place, so I get dragged into a Cracker Barrel at least 2-3 times a year.

So why is it among my least favorite?

Got "out voted" yesterday and wound up having breakfast at the one in Cahaba Heights, AL (Birmingham). First, they managed to make us wait a few minutes despite the place being only half full. Then....again, despite being half full...the process of having a server show up at our table, take our order, and bring our meals took a ridiculous hour and five minutes. I wanted to just leave, but again I was "out-voted". Our big complicated order? Eggs, Pancakes, sausage, and orange juice!

More disturbing to me was the fact that the pure maple syrp has now been replaced by "pure natural" syrup. Translation: 45% cane/55% maple. The sugar free syrup has been similarly dumbed down.

I basically have disliked stopping here because of the typical long waits in the "hillbilly chic" gift shops, the less-than-clean smelly bathrooms (at least during peak periods), in exchange for decent, but unexceptional food.

Now....If the bean counters are tinkering with the menu and reducing staff (so as to cause long delays even when the place is half empty), there's even less reason to go here. ....And more reason to move Cracker Barrel up to the first tier of my personal list of "least favorites".
