By the way-since the booking,I've noticed that in a lot of places,the tides is described as 4 star... why is that? surely not?

I would say The Tides was four star plus (or at least it was). It is more Relais & Chateaux in style than the other resorts - small, a little eccentric. Hope it is back on its feet as it were.
