It seems you have put a lot of thought into switching, but here's a quick question?

It doesn't sound like you use miles for vacation travel (i.e. - non NYC-MSY) and you have a bad upgrade record IAH-EWR and v.v.

- Is there are reason you don't fly the CO EWR-MSY nonstops?

- Is B6 an alternative?

Both would save you time (nonstop v. connection). With B6 you could get legroom (36 inches) roughly equivalent to domestic F. They just relaunched or are relaunching their frequent flier program. I haven't followed the changes, but it might be worth looking at.

At to your question on F seating, I find AA MD-80 and 737 seats have better ergonomic support than CO standard F. The AA domestic 757s are about the same as CO. The nice thing on CO EWR-IAH is sometimes you get an internationally equipped BE aircraft for F.

With AA, keep in mind you can also connect through ORD if there are weather issues at DFW.

Good luck.
