I know an A330 pilot and asked him the same question as I was traveling on the A330 this past week. He said if it was a concern that no pilots would fly the plane. Remember, most pilots have families and none of them wear parachutes. If the pilot is willing to fly the plane, you shouldn't hve to worry about its safety.
Regardless of what the pilot said, I think that there is enough data on the A330 to be worried about the safety of the aircraft. Hopefully, the Goodrich pitot tubes work better than the Thales pitot tubes.
This reminds me of the Ford Explorer tire issue a few years ago. As a proud Ford Explorer owner, did I drive the vehicle with the faulty tires? YES! Was I worried about its safety until the tires were replaced? YES!
