Returned 2 wks. ago from ALON. We requested 2 connecting rooms. Was first assigned 2 rooms in DH Tower that were just next to each other and not connecting. Asked about the possibility of upgrading to the Rainbow tower HH Gold), but was told they were full--had earlier heard a bellman say to our taxi driver that occupancy was only 50-60%. Next they gave us connecting rooms in the DH tower and told each had 2 double beds. I said very nicely, we'd really like one of the beds to be a king. After several minutes of the very nice front desk clerk tapping on her keyboard. She said "Rainbow tower here we come." We ended up with connecting rooms on the 8th flooe. Not corner, but great view (including the pool area below--where we could watch the nightly entertainment from our balcony...and also a view out to Diamond Head and the beach. We could see our older children on the beach, no long waits for elevators (which we heard comments from several who stayed on the higher floors). The room was an big bonus to our stay! The rooms facing the pool and Diamondhead are odd numbered. Also was given the bf coupons for all 6 of us--didn't notice til the last day that gratuity was included, we used them at the Rainbow Lanai every morning.
