Having thrown my stink bomb, I will add some details for those who have suggested it. As far as seats - yes, I was on the confirmed awaiting seats list - but does this really make sense given a ticket booked in February? It may be common these days, but doesn't seem right. What really tipped me over is that I called united to request seats, (travelling with the family including infants on a seven hour flight). The agent told me, and I promise this is a quote, "We really do not do anything for our US flyers because US always treats our passengers so poorly." I agree that I am jaded by the Chairman's desk, much as I suspect any top tier flyer is on their main carrier.
I have had several RCC experiences in ORD where the desk staff was curt. As a recipricol member, wirelss internet access is denied. When travelling with family - I have been told more than once that I may only bring in one guest while I see RCC members bring in four or five guests or family. I did have to pay for the RCC add-on, why should my privileges not be equal to an RCC member?
As one respondent suggested, the reall issue is that none of the *A partners seem to recognize each other very well. What is the point of even acknowledging *G if, in my experience, there is no benefit.
