Ya, I have the same situation. I used to fly LH to get to Tel Aviv and they couldn't care less about my*G status. The last time I flew BMI through London for the first time and they treated me like royalty. After they upgraded me in the BMI lounge without even asking
I announced to the entire lounge that I would never connect with LH again and BMI had won my business forever. I am guessing the nice BMI treatment probably has to do with the fact that the highest status people on BMI fly 38,000 miles a year so when they see someone who flies 100,000 or more they are impressed. I have another trip booked with them ORD-LHR-TLV and I hope the treatment is just as good this time.
