As a 1K, the RCC staff always rolls out the red carpet when I show up at the door, and then proceed to kiss my feet, so yes, United is great.
Jokes aside, it would be good to know a bit more about the situations in which you felt you were mistreated by RCC staff. My expectations may be different than yours, but I am generally looking for a quiet and comfortable place to wait/read/use my computer before or between flights, and thus my interactions with RCC staffers are usually limited to showing them my 1K card (on intl' itins) or my BD *G card (on domestic trips). The "treatment" has been the same in both those cases.
