EWR is so hit-or-miss that you never know. Coming from DCA, there are so many flights that you could just hop on an earlier one if it looks like it's going to be a day. If they give you a problem changing to the earlier one, then the extra 400 EQM may cost you the 'earlier flight' fee.

Personally, I'd do it.
