If it works fine, no issues, then no need. Any updates would likely be minimal. Look out for any updates via AT&T and you should be able to download over the air.
if you use the pc SW that came with the phone, that will inlude the nokia sw updater, and this will tell you if there is any new SW available.
Have a look at store.ovi.com you may find some useful apps there. Many are free, or fun, or stupid, or expensive
I would look at files.ovi.com also.
