First visit to No.1 on Tuesday afternoon, en route to STR on LH

OMG! How great is No.1!

Maybe I had low expectations after being consigned to the Domestic lounge and the *A lounge for my previous trips this summer, but, for me, this is the ideal lounge! Peaceful and quiet with plenty of welcoming seating areas. Soup and salads and nice snacks - ok, not much hot food, but an honest and respectable selection. A couple of decent wines too - I never knew bmi could do wine! Truly fantastic ice cream, in decent (bigger than Haagen Dazs!) portions. Generously proportioned shower rooms - much nicer than than the *A equivalents. And a really friendly, enthusiastic "make yourself at home" attitude from the staff, who were all too keen to show me around, show off the Aga and sad to see me go after only 30 minutes

The only downside is that it is a pretty hefty schlep from most of the non-bmi T1 gates. But I'll definitely go out of my way to visit when I have the time to spare
