Pattaya/Jomtien would be a closer option (as little as 75 minutes from airport) than HuaHin and there are some good resorts to choose from. Despite it's reputation, there would be no need to explore the nightlife if that wasn't your thing. My tip in this area would be Rabbit Resort, Jomtien.
