Haven't stayed at the O&O, but have stayed at the Ritz Carlton (just down the beach) and at Dar Al Masyaf.

The Ritz Carlton was truly lovely and fairly quiet, but we found that we spent a lot of time "up the other end" (Burj Al Arab, Madinat, Wild Wadi, Mall of the Emirates etc) during that trip. So the next time we stayed at the Dar Al Masyaf (in a Gulf Summerhouse) and it was fantastic: RIGHT in the centre of everything, but you could escape to your quiet, peaceful villa...

I am sure that all of the Madinat properties are really good. My main problem going there is that it is so easy to put on weight (although I loose it quickly when I get back) - the food is superb!
