I called at 1:00 am on MONDAY (less than 24 hours) to cancel the ticket and was told that the ticket had been purchased at 10:20 pm on SATURDAY so it was now outside of the 24 hour window.

APPARENTLY when you purhcase a ticket, Delta's computer time stamps the purchase with the DATE and TIME that the BANK'S computer gives them when the charge is approved.

Amex's computers run on MOUNTAIN time while Delta's run on EASTERN time.

Of course the first Delta rep I talked to at Special Services (I am Plat) was RUDE and ANNOYING and kept saying that I had purchased the ticket on SATURDAY.

It took A LOT of calls to get it straightened out and eventually the only thing that really worked was having AMEX call DELTA directly and explain the situation...

I am still waiting to see if it gets refunded as I was told by Delta it had to go to the "refund department" to get authorized for a refund...

If Delta wants to see their biggest problem...they only have to look at all their IT infrastructure...I'll miss NW for their good IT and phone agents...
So, does this mean that we all have to know in what time zone our specific credit card provider will stamp the purchase and exactly how delta will treat these times?
