Yes, they will, about 2 or 3 days before departure. I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I was booked LHR-PHL in CW but I really wanted to go to EWR to make it easier for everybody. Both flights to EWR were not available until 3 days before departure. Then I checked again and it said "only 8 reward seats available. book now to avoid dissapointment".

Assuming you are on BA2232, KVS shows 9 F seats available.

So they should open seats
