I would not put much stock into some of the reviews from Tripadvisor. Often very mellow dramatic. You should be able to have no problem finding good accomodations in SoBe for $150. First, you may want to try Hotwire or Priceline. For Priceline, put in at least a 3.5 star hotel for your price.

Other smaller hotels that should go for that per night are the Whitelaw or the Penguin hotel (although with the Penguin, make sure that you do not select the President and don't let them try to put you in this sister hotel upon check in). However, most places may not allow more than two people (three at the most) in a room.
