Myself and my girlfriend (although I should now say, that after a succesful holiday, is now my fiance!) are booked in F to fly home from Bermuda to Gatwick sunday 9th august

We booked when the air miles sale was on and used the amex voucher

We are very keen to try and come home early to see her family before they move to seattle and so tried to change our flight to this coming friday

There is only 1 seat available in F on miles, so we would both have to fly club (dont want to be seperate for this), but to do that would cost 50,000 air miles due to difference in the air miles we paid many months ago

However, that would represent a substantial amount of what is now our honeymoon miles piggy bank for next summer. I was wondering if anyone knew what else we could do? Will BA release a redemption seat at the last minute? If we downgraded one of us at a cost of 25,000 miles, would it be sods law that the downgraded one got upgraded and so we lost 25,000 miles?
