I am speechless! The revitalised Dolder Grand is superb on every level, from food to service to accommodation. Not a luxury hotel? Did you wear a blindfold when you saw it?

I know that many locals in Zurich and throughout Switzerland do not like the Dolder, because they do not like so much change, but if you compare this hotel with most in Europe, it performs exceptionally.

Equally, Four Seasons des Bergues, Geneva, works extremely well, but on a different level, as it is primarily a city hotel with great food and service. Until their spa opens, it does not offer the relaxing element required prior to a long-haul flight, although a good meal here certainly helps.
