Buying a one-way international airfare...Is it possible?
I'm in the middle of planning a very "flexible" and segmented trip around the world. I would like to buy a one-way ticket to Europe as the first leg to my journey. I've been told that almost all countries will not allow you to enter the country one-way ticket if you are not a national or member of the EU. (I'm american) However, I will have an onward airline ticket via another airline for the first country that I enter, and it will be ticketed separately. Plus several other booked trips around the world. I will be doing alot of overland traveling, so that I can keep my travels and destinations as flexible as possible, such as the trans-Siberian railway.
With all this evidence of onward travel, is it still impossible for me to buy a one-way international ticket?
Has anyone else tried this?
Sorry if this a duplicate topic. I haven't found an answer. I can't seem to get a clear answer on other travel forums.
