Those of you who are not eligible for these codes should only use them if you intend to stay regularly with Hilton, as abuse of these codes costs the airline; and ruins it for frequent fliers. The benefits for those of us who have legitimately earned them are jeopardised by people hijacking these codes, in this case those of the AAdvantage Program. If you doubt what I am saying, kindly note that Air Canada's Aeroplan program removed all hotel program comps from its 2002 year top tier benefits.
I have posted this before, and I will post this again:
Not to sound negative, but for every one of us that posts here, there are several multiples more that read our posts. Part of the reason so many people have the Gold comps is because the codes get leaked. Don't get me wrong, I am all for sharing them with fellow flyertalkers, but I would encourage everyone to post "e-mail me for the code" messages as opposed to posting the codes themselves on the internet. Hilton has had to end some wonderful offers because of internet leaks, some arguably attributed to Flyertalk posts.
