That argument works if you're just a card collector who likes to earn status but not enjoy the benefits. It's amazing how much of that I see on FT. Of course, you have the benefit of top status in another hotel chain, but not all of us have that luxury. When I get Platinum, I plan on making the most of it.

Even though I'm Diamond with Hilton and Gold with Marriott, I intend to make the most out of my Platinum benefits with Starwood, whether there will be a Q3 promo or not (here is betting that there will be a Q3 promo, and whatever it will be, I will find a way to take advantage of it).
