This is the first year I have ever qualified for PLT and I'll be honest, my first thought upon doing so was "there isn't THAT much more I am getting over GLD other than 100% bonus instead of 25%".

However, after being PLT a few months I can tell you that my views have changed dramatically and am already planning to ensure that I requalify as PLT. After thinking about it, I think the hardest thing to grasp was the difference in the higher priority as far as stand-bys, etc. That isn't a "tangible" benefit in the sense that you can see it, but after benefiting from it a few times, I can tell you that it's a benefit which is worth the extra travel on its own.
