They really need to throw more bones to the DM's. SWU's upgradable at least from HKQ, but best would be a couple upgradable from any fare.

Personally I don't care for the NW companion upgrade system, as I've outlined elsewhere. Your no-status companion can bump a medallion for that seat. On those flights we see out of ATL with 40+ PM's and only 24 seats up front, that would mean the no-status companion is bumping a PM. That said, it probably would be a good benefit to extend to DM's, to help distinguish their bennies from those that PM's receive.
