You are completely correct.
NZ does not have access to teh JQ system and you are required to check in with JQ at the LCC Terminal (OK it is the DJ & JQ side of the Domestic Terminal). You will most likely be told that JQ conditions apply, even if you are ticketed on the QF codeshare.
QF have really dumped the idea of integrated customer service friendly operations in NZ.
