For me, even if I had an original balance of zero it would have been a smart move to buy 10K SPG for $350 earlier this summer when SPG had a targeted promo for concert tickets. Some users were reporting that they were lucky enough to redeem their 10K SPG for pairs of U2 tickets - in absolutely outstanding seating locations by the way - with a "street" value of $1K (or more). At the time of the promo I didn't quite have 10K SPG so I settled for a pair of tix to a lesser concert for 5K SPG, I've been kicking myself ever since for not thinking of buying the extra few thousand SPG points so I could have snagged a pair of U2's.
