I (very stupidly) booked a BA flight from LHR to arrive in TLV at 4:30am on Shabbat morning.
It's been almost five years since I was in Israel last, and I only ever flew El Al anyway, but what's the transport situation like at that hour on Shabbat back to Tel Aviv from Ben Gurion airport? It seems the trains don't run, but will I be able to get a sherut? Or will I have to cough up for a cab?
Thanks,
L.
Israeil trains and the Egged buses do not run during Shabbat hours (apart from a few intra-city bus routes in certain locales like Eilat).
However, sherut taxis in TA operate on Shabbat, including those sherut taxis going from TA to places outside TA. In June, I took a sherut taxi from Jabotinsky St in TA to the Central Bus Station in TA (Ha Haganah station and not Arlozorof station) and then another sherut taxi to Jerusalem, all during the same Shabbat afternoon. I would bet that sherut taxis between TA and TLV will be running similarly.
