7/28/09 CDG-IAD arriving at 3pmlocal time, no problem with immigration, even for non-US citizens. In fact I think the line for non-citizens was moving faster (more people working it).

Don't get too worked up about having to "check in" again. You don't. All you do is pick up your bags in one hall, walk about 100 feet, talk briefly to a customs guy, and then place your bags on a conveyor belt. There's no contact with anyone regarding your flight.

I was concerned I'd have a problem (about 80 minutes between flights) because I had to retrieve two bicycles, which always take a long time to show up. No problem.
