This is a current situation!

My friend is traveling from DEN to BLI via UA 739/Alaska107/Alaska2490.

The first flight was supposed to leave at 11:25am.MT & was cancelled. UA has rebooked him on a 6pm flight to SEA (arriving 8pm) & has offered to put him in a hotel overnight in SEA & on a flight to BLI in the morning. He final destination is actually Blaine, WA which is why he was flying into BLI to be picked up.

What should he be asking for in terms of compensation? To take a shuttle bus from SEA to Blaine would cost $63 & take 2 hours. I think UA should have offered some sort of compensation since they cancelled the flight & he was originally supposed to get into SEA at 4:45pm & then BLI at 6:25p. Now he won't get to SEA until after 8p.

Please advise!!!
