Anyone here joined the Hilton ‘Diamond Club’?

I did this month and the benefits are pretty amazing. Just received the goodie bag.

Cost is $A225 (US$120) plus $A150 ($US80) for ‘spouse’ if you wish another pack. (i.e. order 2 packs and average price is about $US100 per pack.) It seemed to me they'd allow you to supply any name you wished for “spouse” packet. If 2 x FT'ers wanted to join and co-ordinated it, price would then be $US100 each for a pack in the desired names.

EACH pack has:

A classy Hilton Diamond Club card in your name good for a year.

A free night at a hotel of your choice in your state. Sydney Hilton is seldom available for less than that anyway - and in my mind the entire price I paid ($US 200 for 2 nights = $US100 a room averaged) is worth it just for the two free night there.

A card offering you "Low Corporate Rates" at set $A amounts for a bunch of Hiltons nationally. Absolutely useless to me, but bear in mind most of these 'special' rates are ABOVE the price the entire package costs! And makes the following offer look REAL nice.

Two $A100 ($US55) nights anywhere in Australian Hiltons. These qualify for a "stay" and all promotions of course as they are booked direct with Hilton. You also of course get the 500 airline "double dip" miles as well per stay.

A big bunch of Asia/Pacific Hiltons for guaranteed rates as low as $US20 night. Useful places like BB, Hanoi, Beijing, Shanghai, Japan etc. ALL of these would clearly quality for future/present deals like CNTU as they are paid Hiltons booked direct with Hilton.

SIX worldwide Hilton ‘50% off” certs each good for FOUR nights per stay of "lowest rack rate" – none with any expiry shown on them. Darn handy as the UA Hotel certs are being discontinued ex December 2003. I imagine these could be traded on Coupon Connection etc for something very useful, if we do not use them, bringing down the real cost of the packages.

‘Living Well’ Resorts health club day passes for 2 persons.

An exceptional deal that I wish I had known about before CNTU. Could have done all that without leaving Sydney.

I have no idea how folks outside Australia sign up for it, or if it is available, but they do seen to indicate the Diamond Club is worldwide other than USA/Canada. This needs not be linked to your HH account, (indeed I did not) so I suspect supplying an oz address will see the pack be mailed. Maybe there have been other threads here on this, if so my apologies, but I have not seen them.

If anyone is planning a visit down here, it is worthy doing for the free room and the 2 x Hilton $US55 rooms anywhere in this country.

Made a booking today, and all smooth and pleasant and seamless, so a very sweet deal. When I mentioned my Gold HH number got the usual deal: “let me note that and we’ll either upgrade you or give you breakfast etc” response.
