I see that the new Southwest.com page has been redesigned. When I click on "Book A Flight" there is now a box for a promo code. When I click on the question mark next to the promo code, it says:
What is a promo code?
A promotion code is a series of letters and/or numbers that allow Customers to receive a discount off of Southwest Airlines' published airfares.
When entering a promotion code, only fares valid for the promotion code entered will display on the following page.
I've never ever heard of promo codes for WN flights. Is this new? And how does one get these promo codes? I thought WN flights were promoted via Ding or via sales. The promo codes add a whole another dimension to this process, and imho makes it potentially more complex to purchase airfares as I'm not sure that I'm getting the best air fare for any given flight.
