I will agree with paulbarton. I just stayed at the Chicago Hilton & Towers around Easter, while I did not get a suite, I did get a great corner room on the concierge level. I had 2 windows looking right out on Grant Park, Fountain and Nave Pier. The lounge was great, although, I did not eat there, who can after a day out in Chicago restaurants

, but did see it and there were many happy people there. In the evenings they have a very nicely stocked honor bar.
The location is geared more for museums, lakefront, park, not as much for shopping, nightlife, but they do have a shuttle to North Michigan for some of the best shopping in the world, and for nightlife you could always catch a cab to River North area, or whatever you like. It should not be more than $10-15.
