wash post did a survey of the 25 best crab cakes in the dc/md/va metro area. only 2 use maryland crab all the time, one on occasion.

this week, the local giant food store has "fresh local backfin crabmeat" "locally caught" "Chesapeake bay" for 10.99 a pound.
i just do not understand. here the stuff is a rare and precious commodity, and the local grocer is selling it on the cheap?????
