But who said anything about not putting the customer first? The OP had a confirmed seat in J and travelled in J class. Had the OP been downgraded from J to W or Y to accomodate a BA employee it would have been a different story.
All we know is allegations of Lolbert that his needs were not put first. But we don't know who the BA employee was and how she ended up in F cabin. Unless, someone at the airport specifically told Lolbert that they were denying him a SAU because they were accomodating a BA employee.
I hope BA does away with these SAUs because they create a sense of entitlement. I don't want BA to go down the way of AA and have BA's elites speculate why he/she did not get an upgrade and that somebody in F/J seat "did not look worthy of an upgrade so I should have gotten it"... Let's remember that we should expect to fly in cabins that we pay for and not claim any entitlements...
Especially when we don't pay for tickets from our own pockets...
