Boarding Pass

You have you love how the backs of the boarding passes are different, they both came out of the same machine

The Terminal

Even though they are in the proccess of replaceing the Domstic end of the Terminal. It has barely changed over the years. It reminds me of Auckland International when i was 5. Most of the FID Screens are just about dead. Its like why not replace them now they could reused them in the new Terminal. Talk about user friendly its fun trying to find a toilet landside.

I decided to try the food court for lunch. What a mistake, The pizza was so dry, tasteless & cold. At $5.50 a slice, you would hope it was half decent. Although they did try to sell me a small Fanta at $4.50, I was noted a whole pizza was $30. The airport company really needs to get some more food providers in, like a BK or Macers.

I took lunch up to the out door viewing deck (Sadly it is closing as part of the Terminal replacement). It has to be one of the best Airport Viewing Decks in New Zealand.

It was now time to head on though to airside, to wait for boarding.

Its amazing that this set of stairs is still around. I remeber useing these stairs back in 2002.

Waiting to board...

On Board
Kiwi Music videos where played on the drop down LCD Screens, while we waited for the rest of the passengers to board.

Take Off

About 5minutes after door closing we got clearance to take off!

We took off to the North, thanks to the weather it was rather bumpy for the first 15minutes. Which delayed the drinks trolley.

In Flight

The same snacks where offered as it was to early for a KourHour flight. Aswell as the standard Tea/Coffee/Water service.
I found seat 11E to be very uncomfortable, it didn't help that the guy next to me was an arm rest hogger!

IFE

The AirNZ quiz was played over the LCD screens. Was rather boring, i wish they would just play the music videos over the PA like before take off.

Approach

The famous AirNZ Lolly's where handed by an F/A, because there was no kids on board

We approached Auckland Airport from the West Coast.

Landing

The landing wasn't the smoothest ive had, it felt like the pilot was thinking around a go around.

I would do this trip again, it was a great way to see country on a day off from work. The crew where great on both sectors, On the way home it was funny because two of the crew where on both of my flights.
